Bio

Hello and welcome to my portfolio. I'm Laura and I first came to Japan in the summer of 2018 and I haven't left since! It was then that I fell in love with the culture, language and, of course, the people.

I have always been a writer - my first poem was published at the age of 16. But it wasn't until 2022 that I began writing professionally as a freelance writer, sharing my knowledge and love for the Japanese language, culture, food and travel. I have since written for a Japanese language school (Coto Academy), online magazine (Savvy Tokyo), Japan Objects and have worked for Tokyo Updates (a government run website) conducting interviews in both English and Japanese.
